Height

It is in Castellón, but it will only take you 45 minutes to get here. Altura, a town of 3,500 inhabitants, is one of the jewels of the Comunitat Valenciana. In 2024 it was candidate for Capital of Rural Tourism and has several points of high cultural interest such as its wall, declared of Cultural Interest, or the Grail Route, which passes through here and is perfect for lovers of hiking.
Segorbe

It is one of our favorite destinations because it is accessible by public transport. Segorbe, in Castellón, is just 45 minutes from Valencia by car and in very little space it groups together a cathedral and the set of the wall and aqueduct that is history of the Valencian Community.
La Albufera and El Saler

We start with something obvious, but that could not be missing in this list. The Albufera Natural Park is so close that we often overlook it. Between a boat ride on the lake and a swim in the beach of El Saler we can enjoy one of the best getaways that can be done near Valencia.
Also, very close, in El Palmar, you have one of the best paellas in Valencia.
Sagunto

The castle and Roman theater of Sagunto are two of its main attractions. If you come, you will have to walk through its historic center to soak up the history of the municipality. Sagunto tells us, through its historical remains, the history of all the cultures that have passed through the Iberian Peninsula.
In Sagunto you can also try Arrels, one of the best restaurants in the Valencian Community with Michelin star.
Xàtiva
The city of the socarrats hides one of the most historically significant paintings in Spain. The portrait of Philip V upside down is a symbol of the history of the Monarchy in Spain. If you come, you must see it live before going up to the castle, one of the most unique fortresses in Spain with two castles joined by a great wall.
Bolbaite

Besides having one of the best natural pools in the Valencian Community, Bolbaite is a great unknown of the tourist routes in the province of Valencia. A short walk through the town shows us the Muslim era, feudalism or baroque architecture.
As a curiosity we will tell you that Bolbaite still preserves today the craft tradition of working wicker and esparto grass and making “caliqueños” (small cigars).
Chelva

This town was a candidate for Rural Capital of Spain. Its winding, sloping streets take us back to Christian, Jewish and Arab Valencia in just a few meters.
It also has a Civil War shelter and a historical museum that are worth a visit. Discover why it is called the “Valencian Chefchaouen”.
Chulilla

Chulilla is famous for its Route of the Hanging Bridges, but it hides much more. It is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful villages in the Valencian Community.
With a marked Mediterranean style at the foot of a mountain range, Chulilla is a perfect Sunday getaway in Valencia. The aforementioned route allows us to cross the gorge of the Turia River in Chulilla on suspension bridges. Quite an experience.
Anna

Anna is home to what is known as the “Valencian Alhambra”, but it also keeps another secret: its lake. The lake of Anna is visited every summer by thousands of people who come to enjoy the pleasant weather on the shores of the lake. It has a picnic area and bathing is allowed in the vicinity, but not in the lake itself.
Recently in the municipality has opened one of the largest natural labyrinths in Europe. You will not feel like you are in Valencia.
Navarrés

The town that gives its name to the Canal de Navarrés allows us to enjoy the full nature without having to travel for hours to other provinces. It is the gateway to the mountainous and inland area of the province of Valencia. Nearby we can enjoy the crystal clear waters of the river Navarrés.
Requena

Requena is a land of wine. Here we can spend a day walking through its narrow streets, wineries and monuments. From here come many of the wines of D.O. Utiel-Requena that, accompanied by the local cuisine, enter luxury before ending our getaway.
Buñol

If you come to Buñol, you can not miss the water route of the Hoya de Buñol or visit the old town of the municipality. The neoclassical church of the eighteenth century, the church of San Pedro Apóstol, the San Luis Park where the Hermitage of San Luis Beltrán is located and the Molino Galán are the three essential monuments of the town.
Carrícola

Carrícola is a town that is strongly committed to sustainability and responsible tourism. In addition to having a beautiful landscape, Carrícola is a town designed by and for nature with circular economy projects, local farming and local consumption. One of the pioneers of responsible tourism in Spain is less than an hour from Valencia.
If you want a dream weekend and you don’t mind traveling a few extra kilometers, you can visit what for us are the most beautiful villages in the Valencian Community.
