World Paella Day
Just like every September 20th, Valencia celebrates the day of its most traditional dish with a special day full of activities centered around Valencian paella. Among them is the World Paella Day Cup, a competition among international chefs to see who can make the best paella in the world. But if you want to try some great Valencian paella, here’s a list of the best restaurants for it.
Experience an exciting weekend of competition and thrills at the SailGP debut in Valencia. Thirteen teams from different countries will compete to see who’s the fastest on the water. The hydrofoil sailboats racing along the Valencian coast reach speeds exceeding 100 kilometers per hour—a unique spectacle you have to see at least once in your life.

Festivities of the Mare de Déu de la Salut in Algemesí
The grand festivities in Algemesí, designated as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, kick off on August 29 and run through September 13. There’s a long list of cultural activities to enjoy, including concerts, theater, dance, mascletà, and fireworks —and, of course, the iconic muixerangas.

The fifth edition of the BBVA Valencia International Open is coming this September to bring us the best of women’s tennis. 64 players, 42 matches, and $125,000 in prize money in a tournament where tickets start at 6 euros.
Car-Free Day: Free buses for 24 hours
On Saturday, September 22, buses in Valencia will be free in observance of Car-Free Day. European Mobility Week will take place in Valencia from September 16 to 22, and the EMT is joining in by offering free rides for 24 hours to celebrate the event.
The Palau de les Arts’ symphonic season kicks off with anOpen House on September 13. It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy the music of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, conducted on this occasion by Anja Bihlmaier.
Alcoy Modernist Fair
Alcoy celebrates its past and culture at the city’s traditional Modernist Fair. Various activities and events will take place throughout the month of September, but the highlight will be Modernist Week, which begins on Monday, September 21.
Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th mark the highlight of the festivities: the Modernist Fair takes over the streets of Alcoy with reenactments, musical performances, games, dance, food, and even an escape room inspired by the 19th and 20th centuries.
