It is one of the most popular Christmas markets in Spain, and is only an hour and a half from Valencia. Elected Christmas village in 2021, the city of Peñíscola will once again decorate this week the surroundings of the castle of the town for the celebration of its traditional Christmas market.
The city of Papa Luna will inaugurate its festive season this Friday, November 28 in the old town with the official lighting of the lights.
It is scheduled at 8 p.m. and will be accompanied by an aerial show with 150 drones.
The market, which consolidates its aesthetics of Nordic-style wooden booths, will be distributed between the Plaza de Bous and Plaza Santa Maria, as in previous years. At the stalls there will be decorations, Christmas crafts, typical sweets from this area of Castellón and gift ideas.
The special lighting of the streets of the old town will remain visible until the first week of January.
In addition to the market and lighting, the program includes videomapping under the title “The Magic of Christmas”, which will be performed on the north wall of the castle on December 19, 20 and 21.
As in previous editions, the event will feature a full children’s program, with storytelling sessions, visits from Christmas characters and Santa Claus (you can check the children’s program here).
