The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, has announced this Thursday that during the whole year 2025, the public transport depending on the Generalitat Valenciana, which includes Metrovalència and Metrobus, will be completely free for those affected by the dana of Valencia last October 29.
As explained by the president, those affected will be able to request a special card that will allow them to access free of charge to the bus and subway network managed by the Generalitat. A measure similar to the one implemented by the Valencia City Council, which during 2025 will allow residents of the districts affected by the DANA to travel free of charge on EMT buses.
Soon, the conditions and deadlines to apply for this free public transport card will be updated.
Metrovalencia service has not yet been restored in the affected areas, and currently the section between Plaza de España and Castelló on Metro Line 1 is still cut off. The rehabilitation work is expected to take a couple of months.
This measure is in addition to the battery of state and regional aid launched in recent months. Among them, from Thursday, January 16, direct payments for cars and other vehicles damaged during the floods can also be requested.
The card is expected to be operational by mid-February and will be processed in the affected town halls.
