Rations of paella showcookings, contests and exhibition of Valencian products. This is how the new 2024 edition of Tastarròs is presented, the gastronomic festival dedicated to Valencian rice that will be installed this week-end in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
On Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9, the center of Valencia will host the most important rice event of the year with a Program full of activities related to rice culture to enjoy with friends and family in the family.
This year, as in previous editions, chefs from Valencian restaurants will offer their dishes made with rice to the public, who will be able to taste them by paying a ticket of 5 euros, with the possibility of accompanying it with Estrella Galicia beer for 2 euros more or water for 1 euro.
In addition, there will be live performances, showcookings, a demonstration of rice drying with traditional tools and the “Arrocero del Futuro” contest, whose final will be disputed by young cooks from all over the country.
In previous editions, the rice fair brought together more than 20,000 people and 36 chefs from different restaurants. In 2024, this number is expected to be equaled or surpassed.
Among the participating restaurants are Luis Valls, from El Poblet **, Vicky Sevilla from Arrels *, María Fernanda Escalona from La Salita *, Ernest Miralles from El Llar del pescador, or David Montero from Rice Paella, among a dozen more professionals.
