One of the best-known wines of the Utiel-Requena D.O. organizes weekly guided tours of its wineries. This is Bodegas Vicente Gandia, on the outskirts of Utiel, in the province of Valencia, which every week opens the doors of the Hoya de Cadenas estate, a natural environment where this wine is produced.
These visits combine wine tourism with nature and gastronomy. During the visit, you can learn about the entire wine-making process, tour the estates where the wines are produced, and see up close the vines where the grapes are grown on the slopes of the Sierra de la Bicuerca.

Founded in 1885, Vicente Gandía’s winery offers three types of tours, ranging from €20 to €45 per person.
What types of visits can be made at the Hoya de Cadenas estate?

The most accessible option is the “Origen” tour, which costs €20 per person and lasts 2 hours. During the tour, you will be able to visit the barrel room and take a train ride through the estate’s fields.
The tour also includes access to the Casa Solariega and the “Arte en Barrica” museum. To finish, the guides will organize a tasting of three different wines, served with a selection of Iberian cured meats and cheese. The sessions will be scheduled from Wednesday to Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

For €35, the “Premium Origin” tour includes all of the above, plus a bottle of Ceramic Monastrell, valued at €25, for attendees.
The “Ceramic” tour, priced at 45 euros, gives you access to the wine cellar and allows you to taste the wine directly from the barrel. You will also receive a free bottle of Ceramic wine of your choice and a glass of wine at the end of the tour.
In fact, the underground barrel room houses selected oak barrels in an area of 4,000 m², one of the most important cellars in Spain.
These visits can be booked on the Hoya de Cadenas de Vicente Gandía website.
