From this Thursday, January 30, EMT Valencia season tickets will recover their lower fare. The Valencia City Council has announced that it will again apply a 50% discount on the original price, which will mean that the 10-trip Bonobús ticket will cost 4.25 euros.
This fare adjustment comes after, a few days ago, the prices of EMT transport in Valencia were increased by 30% following the repeal of the decree law on aid to public transport promoted by the central government.
Since then and until the approval of a new decree, the EMT had maintained higher fares, with the Bonobús at 6.80 euros and the EMT Jove at 20 euros per month. However, the recovery of state aid now makes it possible to return to more affordable fares.
Other passes will also recover their reduced prices: the 10-trip bonobús for large and single-parent families will cost 3.40 euros, while the special version will be priced at 2.15 euros. In addition, the EMT Jove ticket, aimed at young people, will once again cost 12.50 euros per month.
This price adjustment coincides with the recent approval, by the Consell and the central government, of a new decree law that extends the free transport for young people and maintains the 50% discounts on multi-journey tickets and temporary passes.
The Government’s new decree law includes the return of the 30% subsidies for autonomous and local governments, as well as the reintroduction of the free Cercanías season tickets.
Likewise, the Consell has announced the implementation of the “Recuperem València” card for the municipalities most affected by the floods of last October 29, which can be applied for in mid-February in the affected town halls.
These measures will be in force until June 30, 2025, when they will be reviewed to evaluate their possible extension.
