Valencia’ s Town Hall Square hides treasures that rarely see the public light, but this weekend one of its most exclusive homes will open its doors to liquidate its private collection of art and objects.
After the success of its market in Rocafort, the collective House&Market, specialized in organizing sales and liquidations of unique spaces in Valencia, lands in the “kilometer zero” of the city. It does so with an open day for the complete emptying of a house-museum that for years has guarded a large private collection.
More than 200 paintings, altarpieces and decorations: what’s for sale in the house
Unlike other conventional Christmas markets, this event is an opportunity for collectors and curious people looking for pieces with soul. The organization will offer for sale a vast inventory of artistic and historical objects that are looking for a “second life”.
Among the most outstanding pieces are more than 200 paintings from different periods and authors, as well as altarpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries and religious carvings of great patrimonial value.
For those looking for more accessible details, but with the same charm, the house will also sell bronze ornaments, table linens, glassware and decorative elements.
According to the organization, prices will be varied: there will be objects from 10 euros to more exclusive antiques at reasonable prices.
“We offer the opportunity to acquire unrepeatable pieces full of history, to prevent them from falling into oblivion,” explained House&Market.
Opening hours, appointments and exact location
The event will take place only for two days: Friday 12 and Saturday 13 December. Due to the exclusivity of the space and the volume of pieces, the organization has divided the access in two modalities:
- Friday, December 12:
- From 09:30 to 11:30 h: Exclusive access by appointment.
- From 11:30 to 14:00 h and from 16:00 to 20:00 h: free admission.
- Saturday, December 13:
- From 10:00 to 14:00 h: free admission.
