While young people between 15 and 30 years old will have to start paying a monthly pass with a 50% discount from this Tuesday July 1 in Valencia, the Regional Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory has confirmed that public transport will continue to be free for children under 14 years old in the three metropolitan areas of the Comunitat Valenciana: Valencia, Castelló and Alacant.
How to use the Móbilis30 card for children under 14 years of age
However, these users, who must also make use of the Móbilis30 card launched by the Generalitat Valenciana, must first check two things:
In most cases, it will be necessary to load the new free fare option on the Móbilis card at any of the usual points of sale or through the mobile applications enabled (Recarga SUMA, Recarga Castelló or at the TAM and TRAM Alacant points, depending on the province), especially if they have received the card recently and have never used it.
In other cases, the renewal will be automatic thanks to lists previously loaded into the system, and when they approach this Tuesday to the metro barriers or EMT cancelers, the card should work.
However, the Generalitat recommends checking the status of the card at the vending machines or going to an authorized point if there is any incident.
Minors who have already activated their free travel card will be able to continue using it until the validity date without the need for additional periodic recharges, and the card will be valid for travel on metro, bus and streetcar throughout the metropolitan area concerned.
