Stoppages return to Valencia subway. Metrovalencia unions have announced the continuation of the strike days during the month of April, after failing to reach an agreement with the management of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) after two months of strike.
The new mobilizations, in addition to those promoted in February and March, will affect the service on the following days and schedules:
- April 2: from 13:30 to 15:30 hours.
- April 9: from 1:00 pm to 3:20 pm.
- April 16: from 12:45 to 15:10 hours.
- April 30: from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
These stoppages respond to the persistent lack of agreement between the unions and FGV management. The main reason for the discontent of FGV staff is the “unilateral modification of working conditions”, which negatively affects family reconciliation and has generated unrest among employees.
In addition, the unions denounce the elimination of the voluntary service for the January 1 holiday and the lack of adequate measures after the flood of last October 29, which revealed deficiencies in the Self-Protection Plan and emergency protocols.
FGV management has communicated that the minimum services established in previous calls will be maintained, around 80%, to ensure mobility during the affected hours.
