FGV workers in Valencia, through the unions, will call 13 days of strike starting in February. In total, 1,300 workers are called to support the strikes, which will affect some of the most important dates of the Fallas events, such as the Crida or the mascletás.
The union sections of FGV (Sindicato Independiente Ferroviario (SIF), Federación de Servicios para la Movilidad y el Consumo (UGT), Comisiones Obreras (CCOO), Sindicato Ferroviario-Intersindical Valenciana (SF-IV), Sindicato Español de Maquinistas (SEMAF), Confederación General del Trabajo en FGV (CGT-FGV)) will support these stoppages to express their disagreement with the unilateral changes in working conditions, such as changes in the work schedule that affect family reconciliation, elimination of voluntary service for January 1, 2025 or the lack of response after the flood of October 29.
According to Levante-EMV, the unions are demanding an internal investigation commission after the incidents suffered by the personnel during the dana and the absence of the Self-Protection Plan and the emergency plans, as well as the reversion of contracts made due to the emergency derived from the dana.
