If we want to live a completely Christmas experience in Valencia, we can not miss Christmas in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Valencia. For more than a month, the area is filled with lights, an ice rink, nativity scenes and much more.
Below, we make you a guide of everything you can find in the square throughout this Christmas 2024, as we know that once there, with so much information, we can get overwhelmed if we do not know exactly what we are going to see.

Big Christmas tree
This year, the Christmas tree in Valencia’s Town Hall Square measures 25 meters, five more than the previous year. With it, it is intended to pay tribute to all those affected by the DANA, apart from this great fir tree, 19 more trees have also been installed in the different neighborhoods of the city and in the affected districts.
In addition, the tree is presided over by a large star of solidarity, which wants to put in value all the work carried out by volunteers and neighbors to help families, businesses and homes that have suffered the most after the passage of the DANA.
Life-size Nativity Scene
Another of the typical images of this holiday season is the nativity scene, so in the Town Hall Square has been installed a life-size one representing a classical scene, Greco-Latin style.
The Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and Baby Jesus have been created by the Fallas artist José Puche. Next to them we will be able to see, as we did last year for the first time, the ox, the mule and the star created by the artists Ceballos and Sanabria.
Bethlehem in the Crystal Hall
Apart from the Nativity Scene in the Town Hall Square, another very typical Nativity Scene that we cannot miss is the Nativity Scene in the Salón de Cristal. This is located inside the City Hall and the entrance is completely free.
It measures 40 m2 and this year has wanted to pay tribute to those affected by the DANA. Therefore, in it, we can find a white rose as a symbol of respect and solidarity to all families and people affected. Also, one of the figures represents a volunteer with a shovel and mud-stained clothes.
Ice rink, carousel and train of merchants.
Despite the fact that in Valencia we don’t really like the cold, no one can say that ice skating is not one of the best Christmas plans. So, as it is already a tradition, this year a big skating rink has been installed again in the center of the square.
The ice rink is open from Monday to Sunday from 11am to 11pm, except for New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve, when it will close at 8pm. It will be open until January 6.
Another of the great attractions of these Christmas attractions is the carousel of the merchants. It will be open until January 6, like the rink, and is ideal to get on and rest after an ice skating session.
Finally, we also have the merchants’ train, which this year has prepared five different routes through the city.
