The restaurant Els Arcs, in l’Alcúdia, has won the first prize in the gastronomic contest held in l’Alcúdia and that each year chooses the best Valencian putxero recipe. With this victory, Els Arcs takes over from Casa Granero winner in the 2022 edition.
Twenty restaurants competed this year in 2023 in this contest where all the recipes presented trays full of ball, chickpeas, carrots, chickpeas, potatoes, meat or leek, among other ingredients. The second place in the l’Alcúdia contest went to El Molino (Valencia) and the third for the restaurant Miguel y Juani (L’Alcúdia)
This dish, which cooks for hours over low heat, is one of the star dishes of the Valencian winter and reminiscent of the popularly known “cocido madrileño”.
The contest of desserts made with persimmon, as a good contest of the Ribera del Xúquer, was won by the restaurant La Picaeta of Valencia, followed by the restaurant Bon Aire (El Palmar) and the third for Juan Veintitrés (Benifaió)
