
Los Chamacos restaurant, located in Castellón, has been recognized with the award for Best Taco in Spain 2025, granted by the Best Taco organization.
This award marks a new milestone for the establishment, which had already achieved first place in 2023 and was runner-up in 2024.
The award-winning taco, christened Taco Nayarit, is priced at 5 euros and is intended as a tribute to the traditional zarandeado fish from the Mexican state of Nayarit, fused with Mediterranean ingredients and techniques.
Los Chamacos recipe

Taco Nayarit is made with sea bass as the main ingredient, marinated with a mixture of mayonnaise, guajiro chile, chipotle, pineapple vinegar, Perrins and Maggi sauce.
It is grilled to add that characteristic smoky touch of zarandeado.
It is then served on a white corn flour tortilla, handmade from a fish bone broth, seaweed and coriander, which enhances its marine notes.
The taco is accompanied by fresh guacamole, a roasted pineapple pico de gallo, dehydrated pineapple peel, and a crunchy texture, as well as onion, avocado and lime, with a spinach, cilantro and spirulina finish.
The jury for this award was composed of Boukie, a reference in gourmet street cuisine; Nicolás de la Vega, culinary critic and consultant; Marcela Bolaño, Mexican chef; Koldo Royo, Michelin-starred chef; Rita Sánchez, gastronomic influencer; and Sacha Hormaechea, chef and artist.
