The first highlight will take place this Saturday, February 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Carxofa Day. The Plaça Major will be transformed into the “Meliana, Cor d’Horta” market, where vegetables can be purchased directly from local farmers.
At the same time, there will be an artichoke barbecue, with all proceeds going to the Meliana Cancer Association.
On Sunday, February 8, Avenida Santa Maria, coinciding with the passage of the Vuelta Ciclista a la Comunitat Valenciana cycling race, will host the III Amateur Paella Contest “fetge de bou.”

A jury will evaluate the rice dishes prepared by the 15 associations and clubs that have already registered to keep this unique local recipe alive.
From February 2 to 16, the Meliana Artichoke Route will be active, with the participation of bars and restaurants affiliated with the “Meliana Cor d’Horta” brand, which will prepare special menus to highlight this product from the Valencian countryside.
On Monday, February 9, the 7th Professional Rice Dish Competition will be held in the Plaça Major, with the participation of around twenty restaurants such as El Mosaic, La Llar del Turia, Binhui Food, Tabick Arrossos (Llombai), Casa Granero (Serra), and the historic Restaurante Chaparral.
In addition, sweets will have their place with the Dessert Contest made with Cacau del Collaret, seeking the best pastry creation with this local product and in which the winner of the Best Roscón de Reyes in the Community made with this ingredient will participate.
