The City Council of Xàbia will control from June 1 the access to the coves of the Granadella y Portitxol (Barraca) and Cova Tallada, in a special summer operation that will last until the month of October.
Between June 1 and June 21, guards and attendants will control access by car and on foot to these coves only on weekends to avoid crowds and parking problems. From June 21 onwards, the operation will be daily and will be applied until September 15.
With the return to work in September, access control will be resumed on weekends only until October 13.
These controls, which also extend to the Ambolo cove, which will be monitored to prevent access due to the high risk of landslides.
The Cova Tallada, in the Vía Láctea street of Dénia and located on the border between the municipalities of Xàbia and Dénia will also have a guard during the months of August and September to regulate the flow of people entering the path to this protected cave.
