Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has confirmed that Metrovalencia, like the EMT buses, will offer uninterrupted service for 168 hours during the main week of the Fallas festival in 2026.
From Friday, March 13, until the early hours of Friday, March 20, after the cremà, trains and trams will run continuously.
The special plan has scheduled 13,387 trips, offering a total of more than 5.8 million seats.
The Generalitat estimates that during these seven days, there will be nearly 3 million trips on the network. This plan was designed after the completion of reconstruction work on the infrastructure affected by the DANA in October 2024.
As part of the security operation, the Xàtiva and Colón stations will be closed to the public during the mascletás, between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. from March 14 to 19.
The authorities recommend using the alternative stops at Alameda, Plaça Espanya, and Àngel Guimerà.
The pedestrian crossing connecting the Xàtiva and Alacant stations will also be closed during these hours and, additionally, from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on the 17th and 18th due to the fireworks displays.
Throughout the period, from March 13 to 19, bicycles and scooters will not be allowed on the Metrovalencia network.
Train drivers’ strike called

The Spanish Union of Train Drivers and Assistants (SEMAF) has called for partial strikes that will affect service between March 13 and 20, as well as on March 24 and 26.
The Directorate General of Labor has decreed minimum services of 80% for the main days of the festivities (March 15 to 19) and 75% for the rest of the strike days.
Reinforcement of staff and Metrobus

The plan includes a significant increase in security, with a total of 2,415 security personnel. In addition, FGV has hired 123 temporary station agents to provide customer service support.
For its part, the Valencia Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATMV) will reinforce the Metrobús service.
Daytime frequencies will be increased on lines connecting with Sagunto, Paterna, Llíria, Xirivella, Alaquàs, Torrent, and other towns. The reinforced lines will be 114a, 115, 140, 145a, 160, 161a, 170, 161c, 164, and 180.
During the weekend, Metrobús will provide its usual night services, and from the 16th, a special service will be activated in the north (117N and 118N), northwest (134AN, 135N, 145N), west (150N, 161N), and south (182N) areas. The 150N will also run on the night of the 16th.
The usual night lines that serve municipalities with Metrovalencia stops will be deactivated.
