The Generalitat Valenciana can take for granted the extension of discounts on young public transport for 2026 after the latest moves of the central Executive. The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has confirmed what other communities such as the Generalitat de Catalunya advanced a few weeks ago: the 50% discounts on youth travel cards, a measure implemented in July this year, will be extended.
Although the official communication to the Valencian government and other communities is pending to be formalized with the approval of a Royal Decree next Tuesday 23 December, the decision moved by Sánchez coincides with the one advanced by Catalunya a few weeks ago: the State will maintain the funding of the youth subsidy next year.
This guarantees the continuity of support for those under 31 years of age, who will see their payment subsidized by 50% with a rate of 14.90 euros (in the absence of CPI update if applied).
40% on the SUMA card in 2026

The extension of the 40% reduction on SUMA tickets and general monthly passes will also apply in 2026, provided that the Royal Decree is approved and then validated in Congress.
This reduction depends on a co-financing system in which the State contributes 20% and the autonomous administration the remaining 20%.
A national subscription for €60

In addition, Sanchez has advanced that the Council of Ministers will approve the single transport pass at national level. It will cost 60 euros per month and 30 euros up to the age of 26 and will allow travel on Cercanías, Media Distancia, and state buses.
However, it will not come with the longed-for integration in the local metro and bus networks, such as the Valencia or Madrid metro, if the local or regional entities do not join the agreement.
This subscription will come into force during the second half of January.
