The Valencia City Council has shared on more than one occasion on its social networks the reason why these blue sticks are installed. They are ventilators of the city’s drinking water network, which allow to ventilate the manholes and the subsoil.

This prevents condensation inside and the appearance of humidity and mold, which could affect Valencia’s drinking water network.

In addition to these respirators, Valencia has other peculiar markings and reliefs on the pavement that catch the attention of more than one person.
For example, the bike lanes have more than 3,000 magnetic loops, a kind of rectangles drawn on the ground that measure the intensity of passage of cars, bicycles and scooters.
