The Valencia City Council has presented this Friday an awareness campaign on coexistence in leisure areas, aimed at groups celebrating bachelor parties or other similar events during these dates in the city with the aim of limiting noise and impact on neighbors and hotelier.
This initiative, created by the Plataforma Convivir Russafa, has the support of the City Council and the Coordinadora de Catering of the Neighborhoods of Valencia. Starting this Saturday, June 1, a team specialized in awareness-raising will travel the streets of Ruzafa for three weekends to raise awareness among celebrating groups about the importance of respecting the lives of neighbors. In addition, they will evaluate the profile and behavior of the participants.
The campaign will be extended to other countries this year valencia’s leisure zones the campaign will be promoted by means of messages on digital media and screens on EMT bus lines, as well as in train and bus stations and tourist areas. The Councilor for Tourism, Paula Llobet, stressed that the city is considering setting limits as other cities in Spain such as Malaga, Seville and Leon have already done.
“Measures can be implemented to reduce noise, such as sanctioning those who carry megaphones, or also prohibiting going down the street with accessories in the shape of genitalia on the head, with sex dolls or in underwear. We do not want binge tourism for our city, we are working to attract quality tourism that respects the lives of the residents of our neighborhoods,” he added.
Representatives of Convivir Russafa and the Coordinadora insist on the importance of making visitors aware of the importance of respecting the environment and neighbors. They assure that “in Ruzafa it is working, and awareness must be key to improve the tourism and leisure model of the city”.
