Valencia is transforming starting this Monday, March 16. From 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. on March 20, the city center will be closed to private traffic to make way for one of the most popular celebrations, the Fallas.
The City Council, through the Department of Mobility, has implemented a special plan to secure the city center in anticipation of the massive influx of visitors during the main days of Fallas.
The restricted perimeter

The area affected by the traffic ban encompasses the inner zone bounded by the right bank of the old Turia River bed—from the Glorias Valencianas Bridge to Plaza de América—and the major thoroughfares, including Plaza de España and the Petxina underpasses.
Exempt from the restriction are city buses, taxis, public service vehicles, authorized official vehicles, and those responding to emergencies.

Residents living in the area will be able to access it by proving their address with an ID card, vehicle registration, property tax bill, or a rental contract in their name, although the city council recommends doing so only between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and only when absolutely necessary.
Loading and unloading vehicles will be permitted in the zone from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. without the need for express authorization.
Outdoor parking lots based on your access route

To avoid traffic jams at access points and facilitate the arrival of the thousands of visitors expected during these days, the City Council will install signage at the main entrances to the city indicating recommended parking areas based on the road from which visitors are coming.
Those arriving from the V-21 (Castellón and Barcelona) will find parking areas on Avenida Aragón, at the Polytechnic University, and on the Tarongers campus.
Those arriving from the V-31 (Alicante and Albacete) can use Hermanos Maristas Avenue and Antonio Ferrandis Street.
For drivers entering from the A-3 (Madrid), the options are Tres Forques Street, Tres Cruces Avenue, and Campos Crespo Street.
Visitors coming from the CV-35 (Ademuz) may park in the blocks between Maestro Rodrigo, Burjassot, Menéndez Pidal, and Tirso de Molina avenues.
Additional closures due to Fallas events and pyrotechnic displays

The plan includes expanded restrictions coinciding with the major events on the program. During the Offering, the parades, and the award ceremonies, access will be blocked to the perimeter formed by Pérez Galdós, Giorgeta, and Peris y Valero avenues, among other points.
On March 16, 17, and 18, the fireworks displays in the City of Arts and Sciences area will result in additional restrictions around the Montolivet Bridge.
Public transportation, the best alternative

Given the restrictions on private vehicles, the City Council reminds residents that both EMT Valencia and Metrovalencia operate 24 hours a day during the festivities.
Real-time traffic conditions and road closures are also available on the Valencia City Council Geoportal, as well as on the Waze and Google Maps apps by activating the traffic layer.
