Crystal clear waters (and cold) between rocks in a river environment to escape the heat without leaving the province of Valencia. That is the plan that proposes every summer the recreational area of the river Sellent of Bolbaite, a natural pool to bathe in colder waters than those of the beach between the months of June and September.
For those who enjoy nature, a good swim and perhaps a little less tranquility than a walk through the woods, this point of the Canal de Navarrés is special. Because it combines nature and services, as if you were on the beachfront, designed to spend the day with the family.
How to get to Bolbaite?
The main access is at the second traffic circle at the entrance to the village from the CV-580 road. A graffiti indicates the entrance to the river lake. You can park in the surrounding area and reach it walking along a path of about 100 meters.
Another option is to enter through the first traffic circle (known as “la de las ocas”). At the end of Avenida del Catorce, take the third exit at the traffic circle, along a steeply sloping street. From there you will arrive at the same point: there are also signs.
It can also be accessed from the old part of town, although access is restricted to residents and you will not be able to get there by car. You will have to park and walk to the recreational area, explains the town hall.
When you arrive you will have at your disposal picnic areas with tables and benches, water, showers and toilets.
How much does it cost to swim in Bolbaite?
Comfort and cleanliness come at a price. During the summer months, access is regulated and there is a municipal fee for the use of facilities and services. These are the rates in 2025 according to the town hall website:
- Free admission: children under 5 years old.
- Reduced admission for 3 euros: from 6 to 12 years old, over 65 years old, pensioners and people with functional diversity.
- General admission for 5 euros: over 12 years old.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office. Daily availability is shown on the website at all times.
Please note that children under 16 years of age cannot enter without their legal guardian. In addition, the use of loudspeakers is prohibited and it is not allowed to enter with glass containers.
Also, we remind you that smoking is prohibited, except in designated areas, pets must be leashed and can not access the water.
