From June 6 to 30, Valencia will once again join the Paquito Route, a gastronomic initiative promoted by INTEROVIC (Interprofessional Agrifood Organization of Sheep and Goat Meat) to promote suckling lamb, lamb and kid meat based on the lamb sandwich, already known as “El Paquito”.
In this 2025 edition, Valencia has 19 participating bars and restaurants that will offer their personal version of this iconic sandwich, with proposals ranging from the traditional to the most creative, also for lunch.
Among the confirmed venues are El Templat, Bar Congo, Tonyina, Anyora, Sanpastrami, La Chata, El Carrer, Marvi, El Aprendiz, Mi Cub, Alenar, Gastrosport, La Tahona de Celia, El Galliner, Thais bar, Zeta bar, Ateneu Alaquàs, Banh Mi and Tonyina barra.
Each restaurant will elaborate its own proposal of this snack. In addition, new restaurants may be added during the month of June, and will always appear in this directory of participating restaurants.
This route is part of the European campaign “Celebrate the everyday with European lamb”, which, in addition to promoting the consumption of these meats in the kitchen, highlights their sustainable production.
According to the organizers, European lamb and kid meat, in addition to being tasty and versatile, “is one of the most sustainable within the European production model”.
As a novelty, regional finals will be held in 2025 to choose the Best Paquito, with a grand final duel scheduled for autumn where the winners from each city will compete for the national title.
