Ciutat Vella and Ruzafa were the first neighborhoods in Valencia to incorporate the green and orange parking zones for neighbors and residents. Soon, El Botánico and La Roqueta will be the two new neighborhoods of the city that will have this new parking system that requires the processing of a special card at the city hall.
The green and orange zone in Valencia has caused some confusion among drivers, who sometimes doubt whether to park in these demarcations and under what conditions. Below, we explain the main novelties of this new parking system.
How to apply for a resident’s card in Valencia to park in orange and green zones.
The resident card for parking in orange and green zones in Valencia can be applied for at the Valencia City Council.
To do so, it is necessary to be a resident and be registered in the neighborhood where the application is made. In addition, you must be up to date with payments to the Administration and have the car’s documentation in force.
The consistory has enabled a web page from which the procedure can be carried out telematically, or go in person to one of the processing offices of the City Council of Valencia.
Can I park if I am not a neighbor or resident in the orange and green zones?
In the city, there are 3 parking zones regulated by the local authorities.
In some of these zones, such as the green zone, residents have the exclusive right to park 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, in order to make use of this right, it is necessary to meet certain requirements, such as having the badge provided for in the Mobility Ordinance and having paid the corresponding tax fee.
In the orange zone, parking is allowed for both residents and non-residents, but only in rotation mode with time control (ORA type). From Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., anyone may park their vehicle in this zone. Outside these hours, only residents who meet the aforementioned requirements may park in the orange zone.
Finally, in the blue parking zone, known as ORA, the same hours of operation will be maintained as at present: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Outside this period, parking is free in this zone for any person.
