The Municipal Transport Company (EMT) of Valencia launched the new line 59 on Monday, March 9. The service connects the Sociópolis neighborhood, in the district of La Torre, with key points in the city such as the Doctor Peset Hospital, the city center, and the districts of Jesús and Patraix.
The route has begun operating with a fleet of five buses and an estimated frequency of between 18 and 21 minutes.
The route of line 59 complements that of line 9 between Valencia and La Torre, although it deviates towards the district via the Alba road and Ignacio Hernández Hervás street.
A total of seven new stops have been added to serve the Sociópolis neighborhood, with the end of the route in the area near the CV-407, from where the reverse route begins.
According to the Councilor for Mobility, Jesús Carbonell, the launch of this line has been made possible by the recent addition of new electric buses to the EMT fleet.
He also explained that this route is a preliminary step towards the future circular line C59, which will link Castellar-L’Oliveral, La Torre, and El Forn d’Alcedo with the center of Valencia.
