Mascletá in Valencia this Sunday for the Corpus Christi celebration

Valencia will fire a mascletá this Sunday june 2 as part of the Program for the Corpus Christi festivities, which kicks off on May 31. Pirotecnia Valenciana will be in charge of the show, a firing that was initially scheduled for February 22nd and later on was postponed due to the fire in the Campanar neighborhood in which 10 people died.

From 2 p.m. onwards, the Town Hall Square will once again feel the Fallas roar, on a Sunday that will host other festive events on the occasion of the Festa Grossa. These are the other events scheduled for Corpus Christi in Valencia for this Sunday, June 2:

• • 10:30h: Pontifical Mass in the Cathedral.

• • 12:00h: Cavalcade of Convit:
    • • Invitation to the party by the chaplain of the rocks.

     

    • • Moma Dance.

     

    • • Dances of Cavallets, Mangrana, Arquets, Pastorets, les Vetes de Sueca, Llauradors and dels Turcs.

     

    • • Participation of the Misteris de San Cristobal, the Pilgrims and Adam and Eve.

     

    • • Mystery of King Herod with the Degolla.

     

    • • Neighbors throw water from their houses to refresh the environment.

     

    • • The Senyera and the Timbaleros de la Ciudad close the procession.

     

     

• • 14:00h: Mascletà in the Town Hall Square, by Pirotecnia Valenciana.

• • 19:00h: General Procession with the largest monstrance in Spain:
    • • More than 4 meters high.

     

    • • 2.26 meters wide.

     

    • • 600 kilos of silver, five kilos of fine gold and 75 grams of platinum.

     

    • • Hundreds of precious stones and thousands of pearls.
