Metrovalencia will suspend service at the Aragó, Amistat, Ayora, and Marítim stations from Thursday, June 25, through August 30, 2026. The closure, which affects Lines 5 and 7 between Alameda and Marítim, is due to renovation work on the tunnel’s infrastructure and superstructure along a section of approximately 3 kilometers.
The work is a continuation of the projects that began in the summer of 2025 along the same underground corridor. FGV has once again chosen the summer period because passenger traffic on the network is lowest during those months.
What’s changing and what alternatives are available
Starting June 25, the Alameda station will serve as the starting and ending point for lines 5 and 7. Lines 3 and 9, which also pass through Alameda, will not be affected. The Marítim station, meanwhile, will remain open solely as an access point for tram lines 6 (toward Tossal del Rei) and 8 (toward Neptú).
FGV will increase the number of customer service staff at Alameda and Benimaclet, where passengers heading to the beach can transfer to tram lines 4 and 6. Passengers coming from lines 1 (Bétera) and 2 (Llíria) will be able to transfer at Empalme to tram line 4 heading toward Doctor Lluch.
Following coordination meetings with the Valencia City Council, the EMT will also increase urban public transportation service in the areas near the closed stations.

An investment of 10 million as part of an 830 plan
The work is budgeted at 10 million euros and aims to comply with the safety standards established by Law 7/2018 of March 26 on Railway Safety, as required by the Valencian Railway Safety Agency.
The project is part of FGV’s 2026–2030 Action Plan, which has a budget of more than 830 million euros to modernize the infrastructure of Metrovalencia and the TRAM d’Alacant.
As part of this plan, the measures specifically planned for the metro and tram network in Valencia and its metropolitan area have a budget of 275 million euros.
