Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) has announced that it will temporarily close rail traffic on two sections of the Metrovalencia network during the summer.
From June 27 to August 31, there will be no service between the stations of Aragó and Marítim (lines 5 and 7) and between Masies and Bétera (line 1), due to improvement works in the railway infrastructure and works on the A-7 highway.
In the case of the subway section between Aragó and Marítim, the intervention will consist of the rehabilitation and renovation of a 2.7-kilometer-long tunnel, with an estimated budget of three million euros. This action meets the requirements of the Railway Safety Law of the Valencian Community and the standards set by the Valencian Railway Safety Agency.
During this period, Aragó station will remain open as the start and end of lines 5 and 7, while Amistat and Ayora will be closed. Marítim, on the other hand, will only maintain service on streetcar lines 6 and 8.
In the section between Masies and Bétera, the interruption is due to the works that the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda will carry out on the A-7, close to the railway network. To ensure mobility, a special bus service will be established to connect the stations of Bétera, Horta Vella and Masies.
In a statement Metrovalencia advises commuters to use nearby alternative stations and other urban public transport options during the period of works.
In particular, for those heading to the beaches of Valencia, the use of tram lines 4 and 6 is recommended, with links to the metro lines at Benimaclet and Empalme.
In addition, FGV will reinforce customer service at the affected stations and transfer stations to provide the necessary information and assistance. Users can consult details on schedules, frequencies and alternatives on the official website www.metrovalencia.es, on the mobile app, or on the free customer service telephone number: 900 46 10 46.
