Almost two months have passed since the DANA devastated part of the Valencian Community. Since then, a wave of solidarity has flooded social networks, associations and individuals. And there have been many people who have offered to help those affected by the storm.
At first, the sense of urgency attracted hundreds of neighbors and people from all over the country, who traveled to Valencia to help those who needed it most. Now, two years later, there are many who still need help. Therefore, we cannot forget all those who still need it, as the reconstruction work for many families will still take months and the return to normality will take time.
So here we leave you a guide on what we can do to volunteer for the DANA in Valencia and be able to give our bit, either through donations, services or go directly to help repair homes and businesses.
This article will be updated as new information appears on how to help the neighbors of l’Horta Sud and the most affected districts of Valencia.

Solidarity toy collections for Christmas
Several associations, fallers groups and companies have launched several campaigns with the aim that all children affected by the DANA can have gifts for Christmas and, in turn, recover all the toys they have lost.
You can check all the collection points, schedules and dates here.
Coordination of help through the Valencia City Council
Different official means have been enabled to offer help in Valencia. So if you want to participate as a volunteer in tasks for those affected by the DANA, you should get in touch from here.

Donations Generalitat Valencia
The Generalitat has opened a bank account to make donations for those affected by the DANA in the Comunitat. Any citizen, entity or company can contribute.

Helping animals
The Clinical Veterinary Hospital of the University CEU UCH together with Bioparc have established a collection point for animal food (especially for dogs and cats), blankets, kennels, beds and medicines.
You can donate from 12h to 16h at Espacio Bioparc in Avda. Pío Baroja, 3, Valencia.
Terreta Help
The website Ayuda Terreta connects volunteers with people in need of help. Through an interactive map, which is updated with information from users, you can see where help is needed and what kind of help is needed.
It works in a very easy and intuitive way: when someone needs help, they simply have to put it on the map, indicating the need and the location. In this way, volunteers will be able to see where they are most needed and can be directed to that location.
Food, clothing and material collection points are also taken into account .
Coordination of aid of the Generalitat Valenciana
The Generalitat Valenciana has enabled this web page to coordinate the help of volunteers for the DANA in Valencia. To register, it is only necessary to fill in a form and once completed, the Generalitat will contact the registered volunteers.
Ajuda Dana Platform
This platform, similar to Ayuda Terreta, helps to coordinate volunteers and help seekers in real time.
In addition, thanks to a tool they have created, the voluntometer, it is possible to see how many volunteers there are in each place and where are the locations that have been most deserted and need help. In this way, it is much easier to organize the help.
Help 6k DANA
An initiative has been created to help those affected by the DANA to ask for the 6,000€ aid offered by the Generalitat. To contact them, it should be done through subvencionesviviendadana@gmail.com, sending the following documentation:
– Photographs of the damage
– Document proving residence in the affected house
– Required statements and bank certificate
DANA search engine
This website has centralized all the links to help and volunteering. Until now, many of the initiatives were shared through social networks in story format and, when you wanted to access the information again, it was no longer there.
In Buscador DANA you will find direct contact with the city councils of the affected municipalities, where to ask for psychological help or how to participate as a volunteer through the multiple platforms that have been created these weeks.
Valencia Food Bank
Thanks to all the solidarity, the Food Bank of Valencia has announced that, for the moment, they no longer have space in the warehouses to collect more food and material, as their call was very well received. Therefore, these days they will not be collecting food.
Anyway, through their Instagram profile they have announced that you can continue to collaborate with them economically. These are the ways to do it.
