Valencia has experienced one of the worst meteorological catastrophes in the last hundred years. Despite the human and material losses, solidarity has been the other great protagonist of this tragedy and thousands of people have come to the most affected areas providing whatever they could, no matter how little.
Volunteers have spent hours cleaning streets, cooking, handing out clothes, blankets? Among them, many families with children have participated, who have had to make tedious combinations to be able to offer help and, at the same time, take care of their children.
For this reason, the DANA Kids initiative has arisen with the aim of offering a playful and caring space for all those children affected by the DANA while adults participate in the clean-up and reconstruction of the affected populations.
At times like these, it is more necessary than ever for the youngest members of the family to have a safe space where they can be with other children and, as far as possible, have fun.
Here we tell you how this initiative works, in case you need it yourself or know someone who does.
What is DANA Kids and where is it located?
DANA Kids is an initiative of Sanus Vitae and Komba Educación that wants to create a safe space for children between 3 and 12 years old and, in this way, parents can help in the tasks of cleaning and reconstruction of the affected populations.
A space has been set up in Espai Rambleta, from November 5 to 8 from 9h to 14h where several activities such as storytelling, workshops, board games, team games, etc. are scheduled.
How does it work?
Donations of school and sports equipment
In order to make this school a reality, material is necessary. Therefore, if you have a company or association that has this type of material, you can write them a direct message on Instagram to @danakidsvlc.
At the moment, for logistical reasons, they do not accept unannounced donations.
Registration
Signing up for this program is very easy, you just have to fill out a form. We leave them below:
The forms can also be filled out in person at Espai Rambleta.
