The future museum located in the Palacio de las Comunicaciones in Valencia will not only house more than 220 works by Joaquín Sorolla, but will also include an immersive experience dedicated to the Fallas. This was announced by the mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, during the presentation of the cultural project dedicated to Sorolla in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
This new Fallas exhibition, scheduled for 2026, will feature a 360-degree immersive experience in which visitors will be able to feel a mascletá, experience the offering, gunpowder, fire and the typical music of the festivities.
All this will be recreated through an “immersive cube” that will operate throughout the year, connecting the emotions of the Fallas with the artistic essence of Sorolla.
Catalá stressed that the Palace, located opposite the town hall will be “the mirror of the emotions” that are experienced every March.
This museum will be compatible with the permanent collection of posters and ninots that are exhibited in the Fallas Museum, owned by the municipality.
