Pirotecnia Vulcano will launch the first fireworks display of the 2026 Gran Fira de València this Saturday, July 4, at 11:59 p.m. The show will take place in the Plaza de L’Afició del València Basket and will also serve as the closing ceremony for the Gay Games, which are being held this week in the city.
The production, dubbed “Vulcanum, ” is an exclusive creation for this year’s event.
Its technical structure features three-dimensional aerial pyrotechnics: 689 fireworks will be distributed across a 90-square-meter framework suspended 25 meters high by a heavy-duty crane, from which 31 vertical ropes, each 25 meters long, will descend to transform the entire structure into a canvas of light and fire against the city sky.
The display will feature 2,169 firing lines, 89 electronic modules, 17 pyrotechnic assemblies, and 24 firing positions.
A total of 149 kilos of gunpowder will be set off during the nine-and-a-half-minute show. Two time-code-synchronized firing systems will ensure the precision of each effect, along with two rhythmic-sound sequences integrated into the choreography.
First fireworks display on the Fira’s calendar
With this show, Pirotecnia Vulcano kicks off the fireworks calendar for the Gran Fira de València, one of the premier summer events on the city’s festival calendar.
