
The Crida is back, the Fallas are back. Next Sunday, February 23, the Serranos Towers will gather thousands of falleros and falleras in the Crida, the event that marks the official start of the Fallas.
This year, the event comes with a great show entitledDespertant els nostres cors, a Fallas rhapsody that seeks to pay tribute to tradition, culture and the ability to overcome the Valencian people.
The Valencia City Council has released the details of this multidisciplinary show, which will have “100% Valencian DNA” and will feature performances by prominent artists from the Valencian Community.
Crida 2025 Program
Among them, the singers Lorena Calero and Gonzalo Manglano will perform the pasodoble El Fallero together with 30 children of the Escolanía de la Virgen de la Basílica de los Desamparados.
In addition, for the first time, the Serranos Towers will “speak” with the voice of the dubbing actress Pilar Martínez.
The event, scheduled for 7 p.m., will have a symbolic and solidarity character, with the participation of members of more than a dozen towns affected by the floods of last October. E
he Valencian folklore group Les Folies de Carcaixent will represent the musical and dance tradition of the region, while the Alicante company Sylphes Aerial Ballet will perform an aerial ballet show.
Under the direction of Sergi Heredia and with the coordination of the theater company La Fam, the show will include a strong musical component with arrangements by composer Kike Soriano, creator of the song We’ll be back to fire during the pandemic.
The staging will recreate historical photographs of the Fallas and pay tribute to events such as the 80th anniversary of the Offering to the Virgin and the 140th anniversary of the first llibret de falla.
Before the start of the show, the Municipal Symphonic Band will perform the official hymns from 19:00 hours.
After the performance of Despertant els nostres cors, the protocol part of the Crida will take place, with the speeches of the Falleras Mayores de Valencia, Berta and Lucía, after receiving the keys of the city from the Mayoress, Mª José Catalá.
The event will conclude with the firing of a fireworks display by Pirotecnia Peñarroja and the offering of the Falleras Mayores and their Courts of Honor to the Virgin of the Desamparados in the Basilica.
Control at the accesses
La Crida is a multitudinous event and, as in previous editions, alcohol consumption and uncivic behavior will be prohibited, says the consistory in a statement. The Department of Security has designed an operation with checkpoints at the entrances to the Serranos Towers and the presence of the Local Police to ensure a safe environment.

Traffic cuts
Valencia will live the first “super Sunday” fallero of 2025 with the celebration of the Crida and a mascletá that is expected to be multitudinous in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
To facilitate its development, from 17:00 hours will proceed to cut traffic on the right bank of the old Turia riverbed, including underpasses.
