Just a few days ago it was announced that Alpuente has become the great Valencian novelty for 2026 by entering the list of “The Most Beautiful Villages of Spain”.
This jewel of the Serrans region, known for its dinosaur footprints and its Andalusian castle, is not only a perfect destination for a weekend getaway; it has also become a focus of attraction for those looking for a second home or a radical change of life at prices that seem from another era.

And the fact is that, after scouring the local real estate market, the surprise is a big one: it is possible to buy a property in this medieval setting from as little as 7,500 euros. Of course, most of these opportunities hide a “trick”: they require rolling up one’s sleeves and undertaking a complete renovation.
Low cost” opportunities for less than 10,000 Euros

If the budget is tight and you are not afraid of the work, the villages of Alpuente are a vein. In Alameda la Almeza, a picturesque hamlet of the municipality, a 145 m² village house is currently for sale for 7,500 euros. It is advertised as a “blank canvas”, which in rural real estate jargon usually means stone walls and a structure that needs to be brought back to life almost from scratch.
It is not the only option below the €10,000 barrier. In Alameda del Collado, another of the villages, a 76 m² rustic finca can be found for €8,000. These are old buildings, many of them former barns or corrals, ideal for those who dream of restoring a traditional stone and wood house to their taste, while maintaining the rustic essence of the area.
From the ruin to the manor house

The market in Alpuente is one of contrasts. Between €15,000 and €50,000 there is a wide range of village houses and old haystacks in areas such as Baldovar or La Canaleja. For example, for 20,000 euros you can buy a house for renovation with a large plot just 2 km from the town center, and for 32,000 euros an old 1930’s corner house that is crying out for a second chance.
However, if you are looking to move in without going through the architect, the budget rises, although it is still competitive with respect to the capital.
For about 94,000 euros you can find homes in the Plaza de la Real Villa, with direct views of the sickle and the castle.
The designation as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain also revalues the most exclusive properties.
At the top of the table, Alpuente has villas and rehabilitated mansions that exceed 200,000 euros, such as a rural tourist house in operation in La Almeza for 249,500 euros, or the jewel in the crown: a medieval-style “Casa Castillo” at the top of the mountain for 360,000 euros, with huge terraces and privileged views overlooking the entire valley.
