It looks like a postcard. The lake or natural pool of Chulilla, known as the “Charco Azul”, is a must visit since the platform was installed as a pier.
The waters of the Turia River flow through here and then reach Valencia, but there is no comparison with the calm and peace that can be breathed here. Perhaps in the summer months, when it is full of curious people to take pictures and walk around the platform, it is not so much. But it is still a must to come here to contemplate the scenery.
How to get to Charco Azul?

To visit this natural corner, you must first get to the town of Chulilla (Valencia). If you leave from Valencia city, take the CV-35 highway and then the CV-37 following the signs to Chulilla.
It is advisable to park on the outskirts of the town, as access by car to the old town is restricted and it can be difficult to find parking, especially on weekends or in high season.
The excursion starts walking from the Plaza de la Baronía, where you will see the local trail SL-CV 74, which will take you to the Charco Azul.
The route starts going down the narrow and picturesque streets of the village -such as Calle Santa Bárbara and Las Cuevas- always following the signs to the canyon of the Turia River. As you descend, you will see traditional orchards and the impressive vertical walls of the canyon.

The trail is linear and has a total distance of about 3.5 to 4 kilometers (round trip), which can be covered in about 1.5 hours. It is a simple route, suitable for the whole family and very well signposted.
During the walk you will cross wooden footbridges and small bridges over the river. Before reaching Charco Azul, you will pass through a curious natural arch in the rock known as “El Arco”, as well as small bathing areas.
Bathing is allowed in this area. If you come to Chulilla, do not forget that it is one of the most beautiful villages of Valencia and its route of hanging bridges, one of the most visited.
