The return of The Best Tortilla festival to Valencia, which in its first edition in 2024 came to sell 100,000 skewers, will have to wait. The organization has issued an official statement announcing the suspension of the event for Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 and Friday 10 October.
The reason is the adverse weather forecast alert issued by Emergencies over the province of Valencia due to the arrival of a dana. Given this situation, the organization has decided to prioritize the safety of attendees and participants.
It is expected that from Wednesday until the weekend yellow and orange warnings will be activated in the province.

“Safety comes first,” the communiqué stresses. The decision has been taken to “minimize travel and movement of people at a time with unfavorable weather alert in the city”.
The festival was to celebrate its 2nd edition in the Jardines de Viveros from October 8 to 12, with free admission and the participation of more than a dozen restaurants from all over Spain, such as La Pichurrita (Valencia), Amatxi (Bilbao) or Etiqueta Negra (Madrid).
However, there is still a possibility for those who wanted to try some of the best potato omelettes this weekend. According to the organization, the possibility of holding the event during the weekend is being evaluated. “As the situation progresses, the possibility of holding the event on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 will be assessed,” they explain.
