The first time a bowl of ramen is placed in front of you, you are more aware of your unfamiliar table companion than the dish itself. Ramen is eaten by slurping, so as not to get burned by the broth and prevent it from getting cold. Here, slurping noodles has never been so justified. In case you didn’t know, slurping also enhances the flavor of the broth. And, in fact, it is the key to the dish. But there is more.
The ramen is a plate of infinite combinations and that’s why almost every city in Japan has its own style. The base is its broth, which can be divided into 4 styles or flavors: shio (salty and with chicken and seafood), shoyu (from soy sauce), miso (from fermented bean paste), and tonkotsu (from pork). From there, you could find all sorts of ingredients as accompaniments to the soup, such as pork steak, boiled egg or bean sprouts, while at the bottom of the bowl the ramen noodles wait for their moment.
And in Valencia, do you eat good ramen? We have gone in search of the best ramen places and we confirm that there are some very good ones. So pick up your hair, grab your chopsticks and get ready to slurp like a good Japanese does.

Buga Ramen
A ramen with all the essence of Tokyo’s Akihabara neighborhood has arrived in Valencia. In this universe otaku you will be able to taste the most typical Japanese dishes, far from sushi and niguiris. In addition to ramen, we recommend their tonkatsu japanese-style breaded pork, or their baos. Each dish can be accompanied by side dishes such as takoyakis or edamame, for an extra charge.
💶 11-14 euros.

Kuma
You can tell there is a Japanese hand behind this restaurant. Sonia and Koji (from Tora) opened this place with the idea of specializing in one specific thing: ramen. It is a typical feature of every restaurant in Japan; the menu has few things, but they embroider it. The dish is homemade from start to finish, and they even have their own machine to make the noodles noodles. Seeing how they prepare it would be enough for an episode such as the one Netflix dedicates to the ramen at Chef’s Table with New Yorker Ivan Orkin. It has Repsol Solete.
💶 €8.9 (+ extras).
📍 Pintor Salvador Abril, 6.
Yummy Ramen
A new addition to the list arrives from China. Yummy Ramen offers its version of traditional Japanese ramen (which was actually exported from the Mandarin country) in broth, but also in dry Chinese provincial styles. A delight if you are near the North Station.
💶 7-8 euros.
📍 Jerusalem Convent, 3.
Kamon
Although the restaurant has recently been completely renovated with a new style, its relationship with ramen goes back a long way. When we tried it, we especially liked the miso ramen with pork steaks. But any choice is a wise one. In addition, the portions are copious, so with one you have more than enough to capture all the nuances that this dish hides.
💶 16-18 euros.
📍 Comte d’Altea, 42.
Ryukishin
We haven’t been able to try it yet, but the menu has a wide variety of dishes that promise. And it has the most classic ramen, with the occasional variation. An economical option for any day of the week.
💶 11-13 euros.
