The landscape of dreams. The dreamlike journey of a Valencian painter.
Antonio Muñoz Degraín was a Valencian painter specialized in landscape painting. His works fit into what is known as symbolism, an artistic current of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century that highlights all that is fantastic and dreamlike .
This exhibition, entitled “The Dreamscape” covers more than 50 of the author’s works that deal with these themes. Don’t expect to find realistic paintings that look like photographs, but rather the paintings will evoke your own childhood dreams and landscapes. This exhibition is ideal for those who want to discover new painters and are looking for something different, classic and modern at the same time.
📆Dates : July 4 to October 13
📍Location: Museu de les Belles Arts de València. Joanes and Ribalta halls for temporary exhibitions.

What to say about Sorolla that has not already been said! You cannot describe the Valencian painter , you have to see him. To be able to see in first person his colors, the light he uses, the clothes in the wind or the fishermen’s nets, is an experience that fills our soul.
This year we celebrate the Sorolla Year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death and some of his great works will travel from Madrid to Valencia in the exhibition “In the sea of Sorolla with Manuel Vincent”. The power with which we jump together. Painting between dictatorship and democracy.
This exhibition explores the work of different women artists who painted in Spain and Portugal in the final years of the dictatorship and the beginnings of democracy. Although not all of their works had the issue of women as a theme, many of them clearly show the feminist intention of the time.
This exhibition aims to re-evaluate their work and observe in more detail the specificities of their works, since it was forgotten at the time. The styles of these artists are diverse and range from pop-up to critical realism, through abstraction and neo Dadaism.
💸Price : from 2,50€.
📆Dates : until September 29th

The eye of the whale. Between science and art.
Who said that art and science cannot go hand in hand? This photographic exhibition is one of the results obtained in a research on whales that have allowed us to understand why they have low vision, do not distinguish colors or how the cells of the retina work and what role they play in their survival.
The images obtained are a true work of art, which envelop the large whale that hangs from the ceiling of the main hall of the museum. With this exhibition we will be able to look through their eyes, understand their way of life while enjoying a cultural experience.
💸Price : from 3,50€.
📆Dates : from September 27 to January 26, 2025
📍Location: National Museum of Natural Sciences
Picasso and the model. The most intimate face of Picasso.
Who or what was the artist’s inspiration? In the case of Picasso it was Jacqueline Roque. This exhibition wants to show a more intimate vision of the great Spanish painter. That is why we will be able to see graphic material, drawings and illustrated books from the years in which Picasso and Jacqueline lived together.
The exhibition brings together more than 300 works, including unpublished photographs from Edward Quinn’s archive, showing us the Picasso closer to us and less the great artist who seems distant and superhuman.
