LeFou restaurant in Sagunto cooks the best coca in the world in 2025. This restaurant has been proclaimed winner of the National Creative Coca Competition held this past Monday, May 26 in Oliva.
The winning recipe, made with tomato, orange and pickled tuna, has been considered “the best coca in the world” among a total of 24 proposals in an edition that has reached an international character with the participation of a restaurant from Brazil.
The LeFou team, composed entirely of women, has won the first prize of the contest – worth 1,000 euros – and the jury’s recognition for its fresh and sophisticated reinterpretation of this traditional dish of Valencian cuisine.
LeFou is located in the historic center of Sagunto, at 49 Castillo Street. Nearby is the town’s Roman Theater and the castle.
The restaurant is a family project with more than 30 years of experience.
Its cuisine combines Mediterranean tradition with French influences, the result of the experience of the founding family in the restaurant business in France, where Amparo, one of the founders, worked with chefs such as Marc Veyrat.
LeFou’s proposal is based on creative, healthy and seasonal cuisine, with local products and a carefully selected wine list.
