Bartleby
The first on our list takes us to the ruzafa neighborhood. This is a bookstore specializing in comics, mainly, although they also sell books and graphic novels. However, what makes it very special is the large space, with tables and high chairs where you can have a glass of wine while reading. This place has established itself as a literary reference in this neighborhood.

Rafael Solaz
Housed in an 1850’s building, this bookstore is a delight for inveterate readers. 15.000 copies share the shelves of a space that once housed a pharmacy and a haberdashery. Rafael Solaz is one of the youngest booksellers in Europe, having just come of age when he took over the family business. And, above all, what is most captivating is the smell of books and paper when you enter.

Railowsky
With that name we might think we’re talking about a bookstore in downtown Warsaw, but we’re not. Railowsky is an institution in Valencia. It has been open for more than 30 years and its success lies in the combination of a book space with a photo gallery. Great professionals of Spanish photography have exhibited here, such as Chema Madoz or Gervasio Sánchez, among others. It is named after a photo by Cartier-Bresson, in which a man is jumping over a puddle. If you look in the background of the image you can see the poster advertising the pianist Brailowsky.

Ubik Café
In this café-bookstore, its owners -three Italian lovers of science fiction literature- have taken care of every detail to give it a cozy and alternative atmosphere, such as its shelves made of wood and recycled cardboard, for example. It is in the Ruzafa neighborhood and, in addition to coffee and many books, you have craft beers and several lunch menus made with products from the neighborhood market.

Entering this bookstore in the center of Valencia is like stepping foot in the paradise of every book lover . Although at first glance it may seem that clutter reigns, they will most likely have the book you are looking for. There is everything: theater, poetry, foreign literature, history and a long etcetera. Getting lost in its aisles crammed with books and finding real gems at good prices is a marvel.
