The municipal cemeteries of Valencia will open on special schedule until next Sunday, November 2 on the occasion of the feast of All Saints.
The cemeteries General, Cabanyal, Campanar, Grau, Benimámet, Massarrojos and El Palmar will allow the entrance from 9:00 to 18:00 hours, Sundays and holidays included.
To reach them, the Municipal Transport Company (EMT) has activated reinforcements in the lines that have as destination each of these cemeteries. This is the case of lines 9, 10, 18 and 99, which will circulate with an intensive schedule.
In addition, there will be a special service from the street Periodista Azzati to the main gate of the General Cemetery, which will use the dock of the Municipal Crematorium to regulate its service, another that will circulate from the Municipal Tanatorium to the extension of the cemetery parallel to the V-30 and a last one that will connect the cemetery of Cabañal (Camino el Cabañal) with the Malva-rosa (c / Cavite) and Cabanyal (Plaza de la Setmana Santa Marinera former Spanish Armada Square).
Among the measures set out in the municipal decree also states that the floral decorations in front of the niches and graves must be placed before 11:00 am on November 1, and only occupy the extent that corresponds to each of them.
The boxes used to transport the floral decorations and other elements must be deposited in the exact place designated by the personnel in charge of the cemetery.
A strict time limit has also been set for the placement of headstones, crosses and other similar items in the burial units. This type of work will only be allowed until 5:00 p.m. on October 30.
Where to park in the Valencia cemetery
Several parking areas have been arranged in the vicinity of the General Cemetery. Visitors will have parking spaces at the following key points near the cemetery:
- Right Side of the Cemetery: parking docks will be enabled parallel to Tres Cruces Avenue (South Boulevard).
- Sant Domènec de Guzmán Square: parking lots will be available.
- Sant Isidre area: parking will be available next to the General Cemetery gate facing Sant Isidre, near the Metrovalencia stop interchange.
- Section 21 / V-30: a parking lot has been set up in front of the new section 21, accessible through the service road of the V-30 highway. This point is intended especially for visitors to section 20, adjacent to the City of Valencia Municipal Mortuary.
- Special areas for staff and reduced mobility: in the same Sant Domènec de Guzmán square, a specific area for people with reduced mobility has been delimited and enabled.
- Vendors: in Sant Domènec de Guzmán square, an exclusive parking area has been signposted for the workers of the stalls, who must have the corresponding accreditation.
