Cherry season has already begun, and in Valencia there is a small town with fewer than 400 residents that will celebrate with a market and direct sales of this fruit on June 5, 6, and 7.
The town of Zarra will host the 4th edition of its Cherry Fair from Friday to Sunday with a program of activities that, in addition to cherry shopping, will feature tastings of local products and recreational and cultural activities (including a dedicated children’s area on both Saturday and Sunday).
The cherry market will be open on both Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, from approximately 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Throughout the rest of the day, there will be tastings of beer, cherries, and almez.
Added to this are Zumba demonstrations, a brass band, and a cherry pit spitting contest, which will liven up the entire weekend in Zarra.
This season will coincide with the Caudiel Cherry Fair, which will take place in the province of Castellón from June 5 to 7, 2026. The town in Castellón will hold its event on the same dates and will add musical performances, parades with stilt walkers, and guided tours of its local heritage to its program.
