
After Caudiel, it is the turn of Zarra. This Valencian town, in the interior of Valencia, will host next weekend the III Cherry Market. On June 7 and 8, the municipality of just 386 inhabitants will celebrate the harvesting season of this fruit with a program of activities for all ages.
The event will begin on Saturday, June 7 at 10:30 am with the opening of the market and the children’s play area, a schedule that will be repeated on Sunday, June 8 as well.

During the market, gastronomy will have its space with a culinary workshop with cherries in the Casa de la Cultura at 12:45 pm (with a cost of 2 euros) and gastronomic tastings at 2 pm both days.
The afternoons will be enlivened by music and djs, and the traditional cherry stone throwing contest will be held on Sunday at 16:30 hours as closing

In parallel to this market, on the same Saturday, June 7, the village of La Carroja, in the Vall de Gallinera (Alicante), will hold its cherry fair with activities and a craft market to convey the problems of cherry cultivation in the area, which for the third consecutive year has been disastrous.
