First came the Jardines de Viveros, where 50 small-sized works from the Prado Museum were exhibited until May. Now, it is the turn of 13 municipalities affected by the dana of last October. On the occasion of International Museum Day, the streets of Paiporta and twelve other Valencian municipalities have become an open-air museum thanks to the project “In a place of…”.
The project, which in this edition is presented as “In a place of…. la memoria”, places life-size reproductions of great masterpieces of the Prado in squares and urban spaces in towns such as Alaquàs, Albal, Aldaia, Algemesí, Benetússer, Catarroja, Chiva, Massanassa, Quart de Poblet, Torrent, Utiel and Letur (in Castilla-La Mancha).
The municipality of Paiporta is home to six of the works on display, including Velázquez’s Las hilanderas, Sofonisba Anguissola’s Felipe II and Ribera’s El sueño de Jacob.
Other highlights of the regional tour include Fra Angelico’s The Annunciation in Alaquàs, Goya’s La Maja vestida in Massanassa or Rembrandt’s Judith at the Holofernes banquet in Benetússer.
They can be enjoyed until June 30, 2025.

In addition, the Prado has donated 300 books to the municipal libraries of the participating localities, and has launched a campaign on social networks with the hashtag #PradoLugardeMemoria. Through its Instagram channel, the Museum will broadcast live content from the different municipalities.
