The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are not over yet, and these days, until September 8, the Paralympic Games will be held in the French capital. Athletes from around the world will compete in their respective adapted sports in an Olympics that, perhaps not so well known, but are always held a few days after the end of the Games.
This year it is worth following them as they will have a large Valencian representation. Specifically, 13 athletes, 10 men and 3 women, and a guide will represent the Spanish delegation in Paris from the Community.
The modalities in which our athletes will participate are swimming, athletics, traitlon, rowing and cycling, and a Valencian athlete has already achieved his first victory.
These are the Valencian athletes who will compete in the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024:.
Athletics: Héctor Cabrera, Iván Cano, Nagore Folgado and Kim López.
Swimming: Enrique Alhambra, Eva Coronado, Ariadna Edo, Vicente Gil, David Levecq and José Antonio Marí.
Triathlon: Héctor Catalá
Rowing: Javier García Martínez
Cycling: Ricardo Ten
First bronze from Valencia
The first medal has been won by Ricardo Ten, after participating in the velodrome in the 3,000 meters Individual Pursuit. Specifically he has won the bronze, a position that the athlete has celebrated and sought, since he was on the verge of getting it at the Tokyo Games (he came fourth) and this year he was going for the medal in cycling.
However, far from being the first victory of the athlete, this is the eighth medal he has won, since these Paralympic Games of Paris 2024 are the seventh in which he participates. He had previously won swimming and cycling events, although the latter were group events.
