Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) will temporarily interrupt the streetcar network in Valencia this Saturday. From the night of Friday October 3, from 23.50 hours, until the start of the service on Sunday.
The reason? Metrovalencia streetcar lines 4, 6 and 8 will undergo renovation work on signaling and communications systems.
This will mean that night-time metro service will not be provided on these lines either, although metro line 10 will operate normally on both its surface and subway sections.
These works have a budget of more than 14 million euros, VAT included, and are financed by the European Union through the Next Generation Funds.
“The renewal of this equipment guarantees greater reliability and regularity in operation, due to the obsolescence that the systems currently in place were reaching,” says the Generalitat in a statement.
Lines 4, 6 and 8 provide service along nearly 20 kilometers distributed between Valencia, Paterna and Burjassot, with 43 stops and a total of 15 interlockings.
