The Taxi Union Federation of Valencia has called a series of stoppages in the cab service as a protest against the current fare policy and the lack of control over chauffeur-driven transport vehicles (VTC).
These mobilizations are aimed at the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente y Transporte, to which the sector demands changes and responsibilities in the management and updating of tariffs.
The first strike will take place during the night of San Juan, from 9:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23rd until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24th. This strike will severely affect the availability of cabs on a key night of travel to the beaches.
The strike will continue every Saturday night in July, with significant effects on nightlife and weekend trips.
The sector is calling for a review and update of the current fare policy, and greater control over VTC competition.
