Valencia will celebrate the Day of the Comunitat Valenciana with an extensive program of events that will involve traffic restrictions and traffic cuts in different parts of the city from this Tuesday October 7 and throughout the festive day on Wednesday 9.
These are all the changes announced by the Valencia City Council.
Cuts and restrictions for the fireworks
On the eve of the 9 d’Octubre, at 23:59 hours on Tuesday 8, a fireworks display by Pirotecnia del Mediterraneo will be fired from the Montolivet bridge.
From 6:00 a.m. on the same day 8, the bridge will be closed to traffic towards Instituto Obrero, and parking will be prohibited on both sides of Paseo de l’Albereda -from the Regne bridge to Plaza de Europa and from Plaza de Europa to the Assut de l’Or bridge-, as well as on Profesor López Piñero, between Plaza de la Maratón and the Avenida de la Plata-Alcalde Reig traffic circle.
In addition, access to the city from the V-15 will be cut off between 22:30 hours on the 8th and 1:00 am on the 9th.
Civic procession and mascletà of 9 d’Octubre

On Thursday, October 9, the institutional events will begin at 12:00 noon with the descent of the Senyera and the Civic Procession, which will follow the usual route: City Hall Square, Sant Vicent Màrtir, Queen’s Square and the Cathedral of Valencia, where the tedeum will be held.
The procession will continue along L’Almoina square, Barcella street, Queen’s square, Pau street and Alfons el Magnànim square, until it reaches the statue of Jaume I, where the floral offering will take place. The return route will be along Pintor Sorolla, Barques and Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
At the end of the procession, the Pirotecnia Tamarit will offer a mascletà in the Town Hall Square, between 14:00 and 14:20 hours, which will keep the accesses to this area closed for much of the day.
Entrance of Moors and Christians and the Descent of Glory
In the afternoon, at 17:00 hours, will take place the XXI Entrance of Moors and Christians, which will tour the Plaza de Tetuan, Calle de la Pau, Poeta Querol, Barques, Plaza del Ayuntamiento and Marqués de Sotelo.
An hour before, at 16:00 hours, will be held the Descent of Glory, with the squads parading in reverse to the main route.
This year, the Entrada will have the special participation of comparsas from localities affected by the DANA of October 2024 -among them Massanassa, Manises, Riba-roja, Sedaví, Benetússer, Quart de Poblet, Chera, Paiporta, Catarroja and Aldaia-, as a gesture of solidarity and support.
Demonstrations and new affectations in the afternoon
Between 18:00 and 22:00, two demonstrations will be held on the occasion of 9 d’Octubre. The one called by the Fundació Escola Valenciana will leave from Sant Agustí square and will go through Xàtiva, Colón, Cerdán de Tallada and Alfons el Magnànim square.
The one organized by the Coordinadora Obrera Sindical will also start from Sant Agustí, going through Xàtiva, Colón, Porta de la Mar, Navarro Reverter and Plaza de América.
