The Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia will open its doors free of charge this Saturday, March 21, to celebrate Forest Day, an annual event that coincides with the official start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
To celebrate, the garden is organizing free guided tours (currently fully booked) and will open its doors free of charge to all visitors throughout the day.
The Botànic, which serves as a small green oasis in the heart of the city, is home to unique specimens from every corner of the globe.
The guided tours will take place in morning sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., available in both Spanish and Valencian, with a maximum capacity of 25 people per tour.
Leading the tours will be two specialists: Pablo Ferrer Gallego, who holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Valencia and is a technician with the Wildlife Service at the Forest Research and Experimentation Center (CIEF) of the Valencian Regional Government, will co-lead the tour with Eduard Rojas Briales, a professor of forestry science and engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, who specializes in silviculture, reforestation, and green infrastructure.
Admission to the grounds will be free all day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
