With more than 10 million followers on YouTube and Instagram, Jorge Garrido, better known as El Estepario Siberiano, has become the most famous drummer on the Internet.
From his studio in Valencia, he has built a global community that recognizes him as an undisputed reference in percussion and digital content.
His story is a clear example of how talent, well harnessed in social networks, can be transformed into a remote digital business, combining content creation, merchandising and collaborations.
After being fired from a band and going through a depression -as he told in 2023 in Jordi Wild’s podcast-, he started uploading videos to YouTube to document his progress.
Without leaving home and thanks to his mastery of English, he has managed to connect with an international audience, especially in the United States, Indonesia and Europe.
His content is a mix of musical virtuosity, humor and creativity, always with a light-hearted touch. His videos have made him a reference for his ability to do the seemingly impossible: complex polyrhythms, extreme speeds and millimetric precision, whether playing with one hand or performing multiple tasks at the same time.
All seasoned with irony, memes and witty merchandising, with nods to pop culture, such as The Groovefather or OnlyDrums.
Figures like Stewart Copeland (The Police) or Álex González (Maná) have praised his work, and his success has opened the doors to collaborations with Drumeo, the reference platform in online drum courses.
Currently, in addition to having his own band The Cost, he is Residente’ s live drummer.
